What is edg3 FUND?
edg3 FUND is Kitsap Bank's small business competition. The competition provides a $20,000 prize to a small business with a unique, creative, and innovative idea that is dedicated to growing our community economically, socially, and environmentally. A $5,000 prize is also awarded to one of the Semi-Finalists who best embodies the spirit of community.
Who is eligible to enter the edg3 FUND competition?
edg3 FUND is open to:
For-profit businesses based in Western Washington that have a positive economic, social, and environmental impact on the communities Kitsap Bank serves Western Washington residents 18 years of age or older Entrepreneurs who are passionately committed to their idea/concept Businesses in which the prize money will make a meaningful difference to the business and will help take them to the next level Customers and non-customers of Kitsap BankAll businesses that apply must comply with federal and state laws. Entities that are tax-exempt organizations, non-profits, or charitable trusts are not eligible to participate.
How do I enter the edg3 FUND competition]
To enter, all applicants must complete the online application at www.kitsapbank.com/business/edg3-fund.
Application entries will be accepted July 2 - 31, 2018.
How will my application be judged?
Each application submitted will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will select up to 15 semifinalists. Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
applicant’s ability to address the edg3 FUND Mission Statement applicant’s commitment to his or her business, business idea or product; applicant’s energy and enthusiasm for their business, business idea or product; and applicant’s intent on using the award money to achieve the goal set forth in their entry.Preference will be given to businesses addressing the mission statement within Kitsap Bank’s geographic footprint, which includes Clallam, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Mason, and Pierce counties.
When is the judging schedule and when will the winner be announced?
The Competition will consist of four (4) stages to determine the winner:
Application Period: July 2 - 31, 2018 Announcement of Semi-Finalists: August 24, 2018 Public Voting and Private Judging: September 17 - 28, 2018 Finalists Pitch at Live Event - Winner Announced: November 15, 2018Finalists will make their pitches to an independent panel of judges at the Live Event held at the Kitsap Conference Center on November 15, 2018.
